Production Manager

Fahrenheit Advisors has been retained by HarTru, a global tennis company based in Troy, Virginia, to assist in the search for a Sports Coatings Production Manager. The role involves overseeing and optimizing all aspects of water based acrylic and polyurethane production, ensuring efficient and high-quality product manufacturing from raw material procurement to finished goods distribution.

Management Consulting

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize production schedules and processes
Work with external consultants to implement the manufacturing of new products
Work with external suppliers to design, procure and install new production equipment in order to manufacture our expanding range of Sports Coatings
Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs
Oversee quality control procedures, including inspections and audits
Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated production team
Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and promote a culture of safety
Collaborate with the procurement team on inventory management and raw material sourcing
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction strategies, leveraging expertise in water based acrylic and polyurethane manufacturing
Partner with other departments on new product introduction and process optimization
Travel to trade shows, industry conferences, and visiting vendor partners as needed

Required

A minimum of 10 years of senior-level manufacturing management experience, ideally within the sports surface coating or related manufacturing industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of water based acrylic and polyurethane manufacturing processes
Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and new product introduction processes
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and safety guidelines
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in budgetary control and IT systems, including MS Office and ERP systems
A strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement, quality, and efficiency
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding production environment
