Responsibilities

Support planning, preliminary engineering, and detailed design for rail and transit infrastructure projects, including freight, commuter rail, light rail, streetcar, bus rapid transit (BRT), and transit facilities
Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications under the supervision of senior engineers
Perform assignments requiring application of standard engineering procedures, methods, and criteria to complete design tasks
Preparing engineering‑related calculations, drawings, and visual aids to support project development
Assisting project managers and senior engineers with task production and coordination
Applying civil and transportation engineering principles and practices to assigned projects
Assisting with maintaining project documentation and files in accordance with project and quality requirements
Producing high‑quality plan sets that accurately and clearly communicate design intent
Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior‑level team member
Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams while gaining exposure to project delivery processes, schedules, and budgets

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Be organized and detail-oriented
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Willingness to travel (if and when required)
Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Familiarity in freight or transit rail clients
Previous work experience in rail is preferred
