Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

Concieve and develop concepts to meet the customer requirements
Prototype concepts and designs, develop test plans, and communicate results and status clearly
Participate and lead design reviews and provide feedback where appropriate in collaboration with multidiscipline team
Work with project and product management leads on technical ideation and risk retirement strategies and solutions
Work closely with Engineers and cross-functional teams to develop product designs
Communicate concerns/suggestions/improvements relating to engineering concerns and product life cycle management
Ensure full documentation of mechanical design including BOM, drawings, and procedures
Propose and conduct simulations where relevant
Have proven track record in prototyping and knowledge of electronics, coding and system integration needs for successful new product development process

Required

Minimum Bachelor's Degree, 5-7 years experience in a development environment
Prototype design, test and analysis
Root cause analysis methodology
Extensive experience with 3D modelling (Unigraphics / Solid Works / or Equivalent Tools)
PDM and change process experience
GD&T knowledge and experience
Adept at originating and interpreting engineering designs and concepts
Strong interpersonal, communications and analytical skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
Understanding of principles of physics and mechanical engineering disciplines (thermodynamics, structural mechanics and fluid dynamics principles)
Experience of furnace and heater design, transducer design and operation, basic controls principles
Strong Materials Science knowledge and familiar with testing principles and techniques
Ability to work independently and in teams to design experiments & test plans, review designs and brainstorm ideas
Statistical Data analysis and presentation skills
Well versed in simulations tools for mechanical and thermal problems, preferably Ansys/Matlab
Proven Design for Manufacture experience assembly
Hands on experience of fabrication/assembly techniques and working with machinists
