Wood Framing Panel Designer
5-STAR Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Wood Framing Panel Designer to join their dynamic team. This role involves taking ownership of all aspects of wood framing panel design and contributing to the evolution of design processes and best practices while collaborating with project teams.
Responsibilities
Execute comprehensive wood framing panel design across all project phases, from initial conception through completion
Coordinate closely with project teams to plan, manage, and control accurate panel designs that meet structural and architectural requirements
Participate in and lead design coordination meetings
Manage design changes and maintain detailed records and documentation of all modifications and design decisions
Communicate complex panel design information clearly to stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and construction teams
Develop advanced proficiency in panel design in Autodesk Revit with hsbCAD
Support the ongoing evolution of best practices and software solutions within the organization
Troubleshoot design challenges and propose innovative solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy
Document processes and create standards that elevate team performance and consistency
Qualification
Required
3+ years of professional experience in wood framing design, panel design, or structural design with CAD/similar
Proficiency with panel design software (Revit experience)
Strong technical knowledge of wood framing systems, structural design principles, and building codes
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong communication abilities - both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with CAD/similar software and design documentation standards
Preferred
Hands-on experience with Revit and hsbCAD MWF plug-in
Experience with material estimation and optimization software
Project management certification or experience coordinating complex projects
Background in commercial wood framing construction
