Avionics Technician
The Judge Group is seeking an Avionics Technician to perform avionics maintenance in compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. The role involves installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components, as well as maintaining test equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
Perform avionics maintenance and repairs according to regulatory and company standards
Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics systems and components
Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and manuals
Interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and publications
Route wires per technical drawings and perform advanced wiring installation and repair
Ensure compliance with safety-sensitive requirements, including handling hazardous materials and operating heavy equipment
Qualification
Required
Perform avionics maintenance and repairs according to regulatory and company standards
Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics systems and components
Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and manuals
Interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and publications
Route wires per technical drawings and perform advanced wiring installation and repair
Ensure compliance with safety-sensitive requirements, including handling hazardous materials and operating heavy equipment
Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs
Repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions; strong dexterity required
Vision abilities: close, distance, depth perception, color differentiation
Hearing abilities: discern tones and volumes
Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs
Frequent exposure to outdoor elements (temperature extremes, sun, rain, snow)
Exposure to fumes, hazardous chemicals, and loud noises
Responsible for safety/security of people and property
Inspects, handles, or transports hazardous materials
Performs aviation-related duties and operates heavy equipment
Own tools in good working order
Ability to interpret technical schematics and route wires per drawings
Advanced skills in avionics installation tooling, wiring, soldering, and crimping techniques
High school diploma or GED and typically 10+ years of relevant experience
Higher-level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Preferred
Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
Ability to mentor and guide subordinates
Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and Pitot static equipment
Background in Aerospace/Defense or US Military
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
