They are seeking an experienced Government Bid & Proposal Specialist to lead their bid department and manage the lifecycle of government proposals for federal, state, and local agencies.

Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of government contract proposals including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and IFBs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
Utilize GovWin (Deltek) platform daily to identify, qualify, and track government contracting opportunities aligned with company capabilities
Coordinate with technical teams, project managers, estimators, and leadership to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive bid responses
Develop compelling narratives and proposal content that showcases our technical expertise, past performance, and competitive advantages in electrical contracting and public safety systems
Ensure all proposals meet FAR, DFAR, and agency specific compliance requirements and submission deadlines
Manage multiple concurrent bids with varying complexities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards
Prepare and maintain required certifications, representations, and government specific documentation
Coordinate pre-bid meetings, site visits, subcontractor involvement, and responses to vendor questions
Maintain organized records and database of all bid submissions, outcomes, and lessons learned for continuous improvement
Monitor amendments, addenda, and updates for active opportunities to ensure proposals remain compliant
Build and maintain relationships with government contracting officers, agency representatives, and prime contractors
Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities in public safety, electrical infrastructure, and low voltage systems sectors
Support business development initiatives through strategic opportunity pursuit planning and capture activities
Stay current on government procurement trends, regulations, and policy changes affecting bid strategies
Qualification
Required
Expert proficiency with GovWin (Deltek platform) for opportunity tracking and pipeline management
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to craft persuasive, compliant proposal content
Strong understanding of government procurement processes, FAR/DFAR regulations, and compliance standards
Proven project management abilities with capacity to handle multiple concurrent deadlines and priorities
3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience writing and managing successful government contract bids
Ability to read, interpret, and respond to technical specifications and scope of work documents
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Strategic thinking capabilities for opportunity qualification and pursuit decisions
Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams
Self motivated with ability to work independently and take initiative
Analytical skills for evaluating solicitation requirements and developing win strategies
Preferred
Experience in construction, electrical, low voltage, or related technical industries strongly preferred
Knowledge of Odoo ERP system is a plus
Familiarity with SAM.gov registration processes and government contracting databases
Understanding of public safety systems, access control, CCTV, fiber optics, or structured cabling is beneficial
