Postdoctoral Research Associate, Neurosurgery
The University of Illinois Chicago is among the nation’s preeminent urban public research universities, and they are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an exciting translational research project. This role focuses on the identification and validation of genetic markers associated with neurological conditions in clinical samples, aiming to drive advances in precision diagnostics.

Responsibilities
Perform laboratory experiments including DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR, and tissue culture
Analyze and interpret genetic data to identify markers relevant to neurological disorders
Maintain meticulous laboratory records and ensure data integrity
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams at UIC and PERME, contributing to both fundamental research and its translational applications
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
PhD
Strong background in molecular biology and genetics
Hands-on experience with: DNA extraction, Gel electrophoresis, PCR, Tissue culture techniques
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred
Background in neuroscience
Experience in bioinformatics or computational analysis of genetic data
Familiarity with human subjects research protocols
