Responsibilities

Develop an architecture for MDM solutions that aligns with the organization’s technology strategy and business goals

Create data models and frameworks for master data entities (e.g., customers, products, suppliers)

Design integration frameworks for merging master data from various sources

Establish data governance policies and procedures to manage master data

Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data standards and quality metrics

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

Implement data quality assessment and profiling processes

Identify data quality issues and work on remediation strategies

Develop and monitor data quality KPIs

Engage with business units to understand their master data needs and challenges

Work with IT teams to ensure the technical feasibility of MDM solutions

Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and educate stakeholders about MDM

Oversee the integration of master data across multiple systems, applications, and platforms

Implement MDM tools and technologies that fit the business context

Coordinate with data engineers, developers, and system administrators during the implementation process

Create detailed architecture diagrams and documentation for MDM solutions

Maintain up-to-date documentation of MDM processes and workflows

Document design decisions and rationale

Establish monitoring processes to evaluate the performance of MDM solutions

Identify areas for improvement in data management processes and technology

Optimize the architecture for scalability and efficiency

Provide training and support to users and data stewards regarding MDM best practices and tools

Act as a point of contact for MDM-related inquiries and issues

Foster a culture of data literacy within the organization

Lead MDM initiatives and projects from inception through completion

Create project plans, timelines, and milestones for MDM efforts

Manage resource allocation and stakeholder communication throughout project phases

Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in MDM

Evaluate new MDM tools and solutions for potential adoption

Recommend innovative approaches to enhance master data management capabilities
