Responsibilities
Oversee the payroll team responsible for processing payroll for over 15,000 employees
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including NY Wage Parity laws
Handle payroll tax issues, reconciliations, audits, and notice management
Validate payroll-related credits or refunds from IRS or state/local authorities to avoid liability
Serve as the subject-matter expert for payroll compliance and tax matters
Provide guidance and support to the payroll team and cross-functional stakeholders
Qualification
Required
8+ years of payroll experience, preferably in complex, high-volume environments
Strong expertise in payroll compliance and payroll taxes
People management experience with proven leadership skills
Fluent in Mandarin
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work 3 days/week in the Flushing, Queens office
Preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
