Responsibilities

Builds positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of the 59 CSS North America Manufacturing, Service, RD and Warehouse sites in creation of a zero-incident culture which results in attainment of EHS goals and objectives
Collaborates applicable EHS policies, procedures, training, auditing, reporting and tracking processes in compliance with Ingersoll Rand requirements; local; state; and federal rules and regulations
Validates, via auditing data entry and uses established tools & processes to ensure data accuracy, analyzes trends and delivers reports in a timely manner including incident reporting, auditing, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information. Leads efforts in continuous process improvement across the entire Region
Implements the contactor management and visitor security/safety program
Audit hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials for verification to the Ingersoll Rand and local requirements. Manages all environmental risks including waste, water and air emissions to ensure all sites are in compliance with applicable legal obligations and permit requirements
Involvement in the EHS due diligence process and integration of Ingersoll Rand standards for new acquisitions
Lead and advise incident, injury and near miss reporting. Ensure root cause analysis on incidents and injuries to determine specific actions needed to prevent their reoccurrence
Drive recognition of non-standard tasks to uncover risks and identify corrective actions
Coach/mentor CSS NA Site Leaders and local EH&S professionals on safe work practices, hazard identification and risk management including establishing and leading a safety committee
Advise workers' compensation program administration, including working with all parties to positively manage and support transitional/accommodated duty and return to work programs
Delivers continuous improvement in sustainable operations by leading the Ingersoll Rand GreenX efforts including project management of sustainable projects for CSS NA
Audit risk assessments and recommend control measures for all potential areas of concern
Oversee compliance of each site’s safety data sheet and new chemical request process
Guide site emergency response teams to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, spill response, disaster preparedness and crisis management. Ensure drills and equipment are in a ready state and effective communication of responsibilities to personnel
Travel expectations will be 50% +, especially within the first year

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Occupational Safety, Life Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
One or more safety and/or environmental-related or environmental professional certifications desired (i.e. CHMM, CIH or CSP)
10+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety and sustainability management in a heavy manufacturing, industrial and service environment
3+ years of experience as an effective leader, motivator and coach
