Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and closely held businesses
Lead tax planning conversations with clients, not just compliance
Ensure accurate accounting, financial statements, and reporting
Apply tax and accounting rules in a practical, business-oriented way
Work directly with clients to understand their businesses and financial goals
Build trust through clear communication and proactive guidance
Identify opportunities for expanded services and advisory support
Contribute to firm growth by helping retain and deepen client relationships
Meet established billable hour targets consistently
Manage time effectively across multiple clients and deadlines
Bonus eligibility is directly tied to billable performance, quality of work, and client outcomes
Act as a natural leader within the firm
Support and mentor junior staff as appropriate
Take ownership of work quality and deadlines
Set the standard for professionalism, accountability, and follow-through
Qualification
Required
Active CPA license
Strong tax and accounting background
Experience working with closely held businesses
Comfort in client-facing conversations
Ability to manage workload while hitting billable targets
