Service Technician
Vesuvius North America is a company specializing in products and systems for the Steel division, and they are seeking a Service Technician to provide on-site support. The role involves assisting customers with refractory solutions, conducting field trials, and training customers on proper procedures for equipment operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities
In accordance with safety guidelines, participates in all safety meetings & functions following all rules set forth to ensure safe work environment
Assist Account Manager and participate in customer meetings when required
Assist Account Manager with refractory solutions and refractory knowledge
Gather daily reports: caster logs, EAF heats sheets, ladle logs, tundish sheets and other related reports
Packages products as required, using skids, crates, boxes, etc
Notifies account manager or lead/supervisor of unusual equipment problems and performs all other duties assigned by the Account and/or District manager
Conduct field trials for new and current business initiatives
Compile trial information for analysis
Train customers on proper procedures for mechanism operations and maintenance
Train customers on proper procedures for systems and refractory use
Taking regular inventory with precision
Assist in all project work at customer’s site
Coordinate delivery efforts of Vesuvius products
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Basic mechanical skills with the ability to become proficient in how our systems function
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers including operations, sales, purchasing, and receiving
Ability to recognize, gather, organize and report relevant data
Ability to acquire an understanding of the customer's steel making processes
Ability to acquire an understanding of products supplied
Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot
Ability to make decisions, prioritize own work with minimum supervision
Requires good reading, writing, and mechanical aptitude
Ability to manage time effectively
Ability to work from blueprints and diagrams
Ability to use MS Word and MS Excel
All fork-lift operations including the ability to load/unload trucks occasionally
Able to rig components using slings and chains
Ability to use basic hand tools
Preferred
Associates degree or certificate in technical field a plus
Two plus years of industrial and/or maintenance experience a plus
