Responsibilities
Troubleshooting and repairing cell site equipment
Replacing electronic parts and RF connectors
Collaborating with transport technicians to expedite circuit repairs
Performing installation, adjustment, advanced troubleshooting, and maintenance of RF transmission lines, antennas, and related equipment such as microwave systems, tower-mounted radios, cellular antennas, TMAs, fiber cabling, DC power systems, FAA warning beacons, and tower lighting
Working closely with RF Engineering and RAN Operations teams to support network optimization projects
Verifying contractor compliance through site redlines
Corrective and preventative maintenance of cell sites, power systems, and associated components
Providing technical support to remote technicians via phone, command line interface, and ticketing systems
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree in electronics, telecommunications trade school, or equivalent training
9 years of experience in a field operations telecommunications industry or 11 years without a degree
Including 6 years in wireless telecommunications, wireless site construction, or related field
Upon hire will be required to obtain and maintain tower climber certification
Preferred
Ericsson, Linux, Unix, Cisco IOS, command line interface, Secure Shell, and File Transfer Protocol
Knowledge of RF propagation principles and concepts such as UMTS/HSPA, CDMA/EVDO, LTE, and microwave
Prior certification as a tower climber
