The State of Nebraska is seeking a Policy and Legislative Intern for the Division of Children and Family Services. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to understand how child welfare policy is shaped at the state level through policy development, legislative research, and program alignment.

Responsibilities

Support updates to child welfare policies and procedures

Conduct research on state and federal laws, best practices, and policy trends that impact CFS programs

Assist in developing and reviewing policy and procedural documents to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

Help prepare legislative impact statements, policy briefs, and other documents to support the legislative session

Collaborate with CFS policy staff and program specialists to understand how policies are implemented in the field

Participate in discussions on improving processes and ensuring consistency across programs

Required
