Flammability Certification Engineer

Responsibilities

Performs collaborative engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project
Represents the Flammability Certification team in internal technical design reviews
Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEM's and regulatory agencies
Responsible for the review and approval of design changes from a certification perspective
Performs new design analysis and material recommendations based on data
Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints
Participates in defining of engineering approaches and in planning/scheduling work

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 3 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 1 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience

Preferred

Familiarity with standard aviation materials
Prior working experience in the aerospace industry, specifically with aircraft interiors
Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams
Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applications and engineering related software programs
