The role involves ensuring parts meet all necessary quality requirements through projects, corrective actions, and maintenance of the quality system while leading investigations of customer complaints and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Responsible for reviewing customer complaints, investigating root cause, and proposing and verifying corrective actions
Own investigation of customer complaints and lead structured problem-solving using 8D methodology
Submit initial response within 24 hours and final 8D within customer-defined timeline
Achieve>95% on-time 8D submission and <5% recurrence rate for repeat issues within 12 months
Support internal, customer and supplier audits; prepare documentation and evidence as assigned
Close assigned audit findings within 30 days or per agreed corrective action plan
Maintain zero overdue audit actions
Disposition suspect and nonconforming material er MRB authority and quality procedures
Participate in MRB decisions and endure 100% traceability of disposition and rework actions
Support reduction of scrap and rework costs (COPQ) year over year
Lead containment activities in coordination with the Quality Coordinator, including alert creation, sorting criteria, internal/external sorting, and product certification
Collaborate with the Quality Coordinator to define, document, and communicate clean points from supplier through internal processes to customer shipment
Ensure containment effectiveness, achieving zero customer escapes after clean point establishment and verified release
Apply DMAIC methodology to drive process improvement projects
Complete at least 4 improvement projects per year (one per quarter) with documented impact on quality, scrap, or efficiency
Support reduction of internal PPM and customer PPM on assigned products/processes
Lead risk reduction and product improvement by linking Continuous Improvement (CI) with PFMEA and Control Plans
Gather and analyze defect data to identify trends, contributing factors, and conditions present during defect creation
Use data to support root cause conclusions and corrective action decisions
Update PFMEAs and Control Plans following corrective actions, process changes, or new risks
Ensure 100% alignment between PFMEA, Control Plan, and actual process controls
Reduce high-risk items (RPN / Action Priority) through documented mitigation actions
Determine and validate clean points with suppliers and ensure corrective actions are implemented upstream
Verify corrective actions are effective prior to customer shipment release
Troubleshoot design of tooling, fixtures, and processes to assist operators and improve production processes
Provide assistance to the production floor to ensure part quality and on-time delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree (B.S.) from four year college or university
15 year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Experience in CMM programming and metrology tools
Experience in AutoCAD, Inventor, Minitab, Pro-Engineer software programs
Experience in root cause analysis tools, i.e. 8D, and automotive core tools
Ability to encourage positive work environment
Must be able to multi-task under high pressure environment
