Responsibilities
Abstract, validate, and submit surgical clinical data in accordance with ACS NSQIP and/or MBSAQIP standards
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness for national registry submissions
Analyze surgical outcomes and identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps
Collaborate with surgeons, perioperative teams, and quality leadership to support quality improvement initiatives
Maintain compliance with program requirements, policies, and accreditation standards
Prepare reports and presentations related to surgical outcomes and quality metrics
Serve as a clinical resource regarding surgical quality, outcomes, and benchmarking
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare (Clinical Nursing or Medicine required)
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience (inpatient experience strongly preferred)
At least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Clinical Reviewer (SCR)
Previous experience with ACS NSQIP and/or MBSAQIP programs
Strong clinical and surgical knowledge base
Excellent attention to detail and data abstraction skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Perioperative or surgical services experience
Quality improvement, outcomes research, or performance improvement background
Experience working with multidisciplinary surgical teams
