Amtex Systems Inc is seeking a Controls Engineer for a 3-6 month project that may extend or convert to a permanent role. The role involves developing control systems from scratch, including designing and programming PLC logic, building control system databases, and configuring communications between devices.

Responsibilities

Develop control systems from scratch based on control narratives and I/O lists

Design and program PLC logic, including system architecture and standards

Build and manage control system databases and tag structures

Configure and troubleshoot communications between PLCs, HMIs, and field devices

Develop HMIs from a blank project (not modifications of existing screens)

Perform system testing, debugging, and commissioning support

Document control logic, system architecture, and configurations as required

Required

5+ years of Controls or Automation Engineering experience

Demonstrated experience delivering greenfield control system builds

Ability to independently own system development from concept through deployment

Strong understanding of industrial communications and control architectures

Candidates must have deep, hands-on experience with ONE of the following (both not required):

Option 1: Ignition Perspective

Experience with the newest iteration of Ignition (Ignition Perspective)

Proven ability to build Perspective HMIs from a blank project

Experience setting up databases, tags, and communications within Ignition

Option 2: Modicon EcoStruxure

Experience programming Modicon PLCs using EcoStruxure

Proven experience building PLC programs from scratch

Strong familiarity with I/O mapping, control logic development, and system architecture

Preferred

Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure environments

Commissioning and startup experience

Familiarity with control system documentation standards
