Engineer II - Environmental Compliance

ARRO Consulting is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Engineer to join their Environmental Compliance group. This role focuses on helping clients maintain compliance across various environmental disciplines, including air quality and wastewater management, by interpreting regulations and delivering practical solutions.

Responsibilities

Interpret environmental laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels to ensure client compliance
Prepare and submit reports such as Tier II, TRI, AIMs, 26R, hazardous waste, annual combustion, and air emissions reports
Manage environmental permits for air quality, stormwater, wastewater, waste, and industrial pretreatment
Maintain compliance calendars to track key deadlines and regulatory updates
Conduct compliance audits and assessments to identify risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Support clients in responding to regulatory inspections and inquiries
Perform air emissions calculations, oversee stormwater sampling and data collection, and provide expertise on waste management (hazardous, residual, universal, and recyclable materials)
Offer training and technical guidance to clients and internal teams
Work directly with industrial and municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and laboratories to facilitate compliance efforts
Contribute to business development by assisting with proposals and presentations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory reporting
Strong understanding of air, water, and waste regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental compliance software
Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Method 9 certification
Experience with industrial pretreatment program development and enforcement
Driver's License
