Responsibilities
Litigating administrative law matters before DHCR, OATH, NYC Commission on Human Rights, NYS Division of Human Rights, and New York Supreme Court
Defending complex claims involving rent overcharge, succession, harassment, discrimination, and deregulation
Drafting Article 78 petitions, agency submissions, and motion practice
Advising on Rent Stabilization Law, Rent Stabilization Code, and Rent and Eviction Regulations
Conducting rent regulatory and administrative due diligence
Collaborating with senior attorneys on strategic litigation and advisory matters
Contributing to thought leadership and client-facing publications (no sales pressure)
Qualification
Required
Meaningful experience in rent regulation, DHCR practice, and administrative law
Strong working knowledge of Rent Stabilization Law and Code
Experience handling DHCR proceedings required
Exposure to Supreme Court litigation or interest in expanding into it
Ability to run matters independently while working collaboratively
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
Active NY Bar membership in good standing
Preferred
A portable book is welcome but not required
