HR Manager
Acorn Stairlifts, Inc. is seeking an HR Manager to serve as a strategic and operational HR partner. This role focuses on HR compliance, employee relations, safety and workers’ compensation, and organizational effectiveness while preparing for future advancement into the HR VP role.

Responsibilities
Lead development, interpretation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
Monitor and implement updates to federal, state, and local employment law
Oversee compliance in wage and hour, leaves, EEO/AA, I-9/E-Verify, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and recordkeeping
Conduct HR audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans
Support investigations and compliance-related issue resolution
Coordinate immigration process: visas, etc
Partner with leadership to promote a culture of safety, regulatory awareness, and risk prevention
Support workplace safety programs, incident response, and corrective action follow-up
Oversee workers’ compensation case coordination, return-to-work support, and related documentation
Serve as primary resource for complex employee relations matters and investigations
Coach managers on accountability, corrective action, performance, and policy application
Promote a respectful and values-aligned workplace environment
Partner with HR VP on workforce planning, succession planning, and change initiatives, including facilitation of individual development plans
Analyze trends in engagement, turnover, and ER activity to recommend preventive solutions
Support HR and leadership training related to policy, performance, safety, and workplace expectations
Provide supervisory oversight and mentoring for assigned HR staff to support growth, capability, and alignment to HR priorities
Support compliant recruiting practices and a strong candidate and onboarding experience
Assume progressively broader responsibilities to prepare for future advancement into the HR VP role
Partner closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager and provide backup support for payroll, benefits, HR operations, and related processes as needed to ensure uninterrupted service to employees and leaders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
Significant, progressive HR experience with demonstrated strength in compliance, employee relations, and safety/Workers' Compensation exposure
Proven judgment, coaching capability, and experience managing sensitive HR matters
Strong knowledge of employment law, safety awareness, and HR best practices
Preferred
SHRM-SCP/SPHR and/or Master's degree
