Director of Product - SAP AP/MM

Director/ExecutiveInsure Technology is currently partnering with one of their key enterprise clients, a globally recognized retail chain, to help them identify a Director of Product to lead strategy, prioritization, and delivery for SAP modules supporting Accounts Payable (AP) and Materials Management (MM). This leader will drive a value-focused product culture using data, business cases, and measured prioritization to ensure SAP development aligns with what customers and internal users find most valuable.

Responsibilities
Own the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for SAP AP and MM capabilities across the enterprise
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product managers who operate with strong product fundamentals
Build clear, data-backed business cases to support prioritization and to diplomatically challenge business requests when they don’t align to value
Partner closely with engineering, finance, supply chain, and SAP consultants to define smart, scalable solutions
Hold SAP consulting partners accountable to scope, quality, and timelines while preventing over-configuration
Champion value-driven decision-making and ensure every feature or enhancement is tied to measurable outcomes
Guide the organization through post-implementation optimization, KPIs, adoption, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Strong leadership experience overseeing product teams in large, enterprise-scale environments
Deep functional understanding of SAP AP and MM, with the confidence to challenge consultants and steer toward best-practice configuration
Must have lived through at least one successful SAP implementation
Proven ability to use metrics, customer value, and ROI modeling to drive prioritization
Excellent communication skills—able to influence executives and guide cross-functional partners with diplomacy and clarity
Preferred
S/4HANA experience highly preferred
Background as a management consultant, product consultant, or SAP consultant is a plus
