Amtex Systems Inc is seeking a Controls Engineer with proven experience in building control systems from the ground up. The role requires independent ownership of system development from concept through deployment, with a strong understanding of industrial communications and control architectures.

Responsibilities

Ability to take a control narrative and I/O list and independently:

Develop the control system architecture

Set up the PLC/HMI database

Configure communications

Build the HMI from scratch

This is a true greenfield build role, not a retrofit or enhancement position

Required

5+ years of Controls or Automation Engineering experience

Demonstrated experience delivering greenfield control system builds

Ability to independently own system development from concept through deployment

Strong understanding of industrial communications and control architectures

Experience with the newest iteration of Ignition (Ignition Perspective)

Proven ability to build Perspective HMIs from a blank project

Experience setting up databases, tags, and communications within Ignition

Experience programming Modicon PLCs using EcoStruxure

Proven experience building PLC programs from scratch

Strong familiarity with I/O mapping, control logic development, and system architecture

Ability to take a control narrative and I/O list and independently develop the control system architecture

Set up the PLC/HMI database

Configure communications

Build the HMI from scratch

Preferred

Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure environments

Commissioning and startup experience

Familiarity with control system documentation standards
