Research Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct independent, externally funded clinical or translational research in a relevant area (e.g., health services research, emergency systems, disparities, informatics, implementation science)
Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences
Secure extramural funding (NIH, AHRQ, DoD, PCORI, foundations)
Mentor trainees and junior faculty on research design and career development
Collaborate across departments, centers, and research institutes at Jefferson and beyond
Engage in quality improvement, safety, and innovation initiatives across the department
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment that includes residents, medical students, nurses, and subspecialists
Participate in clinical teaching of residents and medical students

Required

Advanced research training (e.g., MPH, MS, PhD, or comparable experience)
Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
Demonstrated excellence in clinical emergency medicine practice

Experience or interest in mentoring, team science, and academic collaboration

Preferred

Current or prior NIH or equivalent federal grant support
Research aligned with TJU's strategic priorities (health equity, digital health, population health, precision medicine)
