Motion Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Senior Open Source Advocate to help shape the future of open source engagement. In this role, you will build tools, documentation, and programs to improve interactions with open source projects and champion developer experience.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain tools to simplify open source software development and release processes
Partner closely with open source communities (CNCF, GraphQL Foundation, and more) to coordinate developer events, content initiatives, and new programs
Create developer-facing documentation and training guides for contributing to and maintaining open source projects
Engage with open source communities to understand challenges and emerging trends
Develop tools for automated analysis and reporting on open source repo statistics and trends
Drive the editorial calendar and support content creation to highlight our open source initiatives

Qualification

Open source advocacyAI proficiencyTechnical content creationPublic speakingOpen source licenses knowledge

Required

Proven track record enabling developers via hands-on workshops and technical labs
Experience producing and sharing documented code and technical content to support fellow developers
Confident, engaging presenter at in-person or virtual events (conferences, YouTube, webinars, live streams)
High proficiency in AI and general technical acumen

Preferred

Familiarity with open source licenses and Contributor License Agreements
