Parts Specialist

The Parts Specialist is responsible for managing the daily operations of the parts department, including procurement, inventory management, and shipping of aircraft parts to support maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the daily operations of the parts department, including procurement, receiving, warehousing, and shipping of aircraft parts and materials to support the Maintenance Department
Manage parts and materials using Corridor, including ordering, inventory maintenance, shipping, and processing returns
Track cores, tooling calibration schedules, and shelf-life of warehouse items in Corridor
Research pricing and availability of parts or repair/overhaul services through vendor websites, email, or phone communication
Oversee procurement and tracking of approved parts and materials by generating system-based purchase orders
Notify the Director of Maintenance and maintenance personnel upon material arrival
Submit warranty claims through vendor websites as required
Monitor and process warranty and returned parts, and coordinate with accounting regarding receipt of related funds
Create approved purchase or repair orders in Corridor
Assist with opening, maintaining, and closing shop and aircraft work orders as necessary
Support and oversee shipping operations; provide coverage for shipping and receiving during personnel shortages
Complete and maintain certification in DOT 49CFR and IATA hazardous goods shipping (training provided by Acron)
Maintain valid company forklift certification (training provided by Acron)
Receive materials in compliance with company and FAA standards, ensuring proper documentation (e.g., Form 8130, COC, 337)
Ship LTL (Less Than Truckload) and parcel items using FedEx software; assist others in proper shipping procedures
Ensure all parts are checked out to the correct aircraft tail number or work order; resolve issues promptly
Perform cycle counts, make inventory adjustments, and notify accounting as required
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the parts department, shipping area, and warehouse
Ensure adequate supply of consumables (e.g., paint, lubricants)
Monitor inventory minimums and reorder as necessary
Maintain hardware and warehouse bins in proper condition
Oversee checkout of company tooling and equipment; verify calibration and condition
Coordinate vendor services and create purchase orders for calibration needs
Recommend process improvements to enhance parts department performance
Communicate all parts room issues and challenges to the Parts Supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned by the Parts Supervisor or management

Required

Possess/Maintain a Valid Driver's License and other airport-required identification or authorizations
Valid State-Issued Driver's License with a Clean Driving Record

Intermediate computer skills and database management
Maintain a valid company forklift certification as a condition of continued employment. Acron will provide training
Complete and maintain certification in DOT 49CFR and IATA hazardous goods shipping as a condition of continued employment. Acron will provide training
High school diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years' experience or Associate degree with 0-2 years' experience
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs. and frequently navigate stairs
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
