Project Development Manager
TED Renewables is a wholly owned affiliate of Tyr Energy focused on clean and renewable generation and technology solutions. The Project Development Manager will lead the development of grid-scale solar and battery storage projects, ensuring projects progress on schedule and within budget while collaborating with various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead development activities of grid-scale solar energy and battery storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction
Collaborate effectively with the Development, Origination, EPC, and Interconnection teams
Engage with staff and third-party consultants to coordinate environmental, permitting, transmission interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities
Ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within budget
Obtain local project permits and tax agreements
Select, manage, and direct third party consultants and review their work product
Engage with landowners and stakeholders to provide information throughout the development process
Evaluate viability of early stage and acquisition projects
Conduct site visits to define site characteristics and develop relationships with local stakeholders
Represent TED in industry advocacy groups
Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and industry trends impacting the future of solar, BESS and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers and offtake agreements
Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three (3) - five (5) years of work experience at a leading IPP, utility, or renewable developer with significant experience in greenfield project development
Proven record of accomplishment in solar or renewable energy development
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks
Thorough understanding of land easements/leases and title curative requirements
Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtain development permits, tax abatements, etc
Working knowledge of technical development disciplines, including interconnection, resource assessment, solar system and BESS operation, GIS, etc
Professional presence and strong communication skills
Ability to manage and develop junior talent
Current knowledge of renewable energy markets and key drivers (e.g., policies, technologies, dynamics in local markets), especially for solar and storage
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment
Preferred
Experience in PJM and/or MISO preferred
Bachelor's with a focus in engineering, environmental, business administration or economics preferred
