Elevate Flexible Legal Resourcing is looking for a Senior Government Contracts Attorney to assist a leading food processing company. The primary focus of this role is to ensure compliance with government contracting licenses and certifications.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Assess and document current government contract certification obligations applicable at the bidding, execution, and ongoing performance stages
Identify existing government contracts and contract types and map corresponding certification requirements
Document: What certifications are currently being made Who is responsible for making certifications How compliance with certification obligations is tracked and validated
Evaluate current practices and identify gaps, risks, or inconsistencies in certification governance
Advise on best practices for certification controls, documentation, and oversight
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and relevant business stakeholders while maintaining attorney–client privilege

Qualification

Juris Doctor (JD)U.S. government contractingFederal contract complianceGovernance frameworksDocumentation skillsAnalytical skillsIndependent workCross-functional collaboration

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Extensive experience in U.S. government contracting
Deep knowledge of federal contract certifications and compliance obligations
Experience advising on governance, certification, and compliance frameworks
Strong documentation and analytical skills
Ability to work independently in a project-based role

Preferred

Experience designing or implementing certification programs or controls
Prior work supporting internal compliance reviews or readiness initiatives
Familiarity with Food/Nutrition or similar regulatory certification models
Experience working cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and business teams
Prior in-house or consulting experience
