AltairStrickland, LLC - Project Engineer
AltairStrickland, LLC is a mechanical contractor specializing in fluid catalytic cracking units and other critical projects in the refining and petrochemical industries. The Project Engineer will oversee project logistics, coordinate engineering efforts, and ensure the safe and efficient execution of engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
Explores the project’s theoretical, mechanical, and logistical implementations and provides analysis to safely and efficiently complete project tasks
When applicable, work directly with Client and or Subcontracted Engineering services for preparation, drafting, and verifying accuracy of drawings, schematics, product specifications, operation/service manuals, and other documentation necessary to facilitate project completion
Prepares and/or reviews engineering change requests from customers; discusses impacts with Operations, Quality Control and Safety Departments; develop and oversee preparation and implementation of all engineering change notices and document change control
Provides Estimating, Sales, and Marketing Departments with project expectations including financial and man-power requirement for assigned task. Assists with preparation of sales presentations, service/repair methods, and marketing literature, and on-site presentations to customers regarding engineering logistics
Coordinates multiple turnaround projects simultaneously, maintains surveys of the progress of the work, and supervises as necessary project execution and or instructions/over-view to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently
Performs other engineering duties as requested by the Engineering Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program
A minimum of 4 years' experience required
Knowledge and previous application of domestic Industry Codes pertaining to static equipment such as API/ASME/AISC/AWS are essential
Preferred
Refining and Chemical Sector experience
A professional engineer (P.E.) or Engineering in Training (E.I.T.)
2D Drafting and 3D Modeling Experience with Autodesk platforms
Experience with Rigging and Heavy Lift Operating Equipment
