The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Contract Management Specialist 1. The role involves reviewing, tracking, and processing contract-related transactions and issues, as well as working with control agency staff and processing transactions in the Statewide Financial System.

Review, tracking and processing of contract related transactions including new, renewal and amendment transactions
Receive, review and process contract related issues for programs
Process miscellaneous service contracts and associated purchase orders
Work with control agency staff to address issues
Process all transactions in the Statewide Financial System (SFS)
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the Current Civil Service Eligible List, Professional Careers Opportunity (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT). Appointment may be made at the traineeship level
A bachelor's or higher degree
A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience managing contracts and related budgets including one or more of the following areas: negotiation with contractors and vendors; fiscal management, including bidding, payment, analysis, and fiscal reporting; contract development, including developing requests for proposals; contract execution, including securing signatory approval from control agencies; monitoring and review of contract terms
A bachelor degree AND two years of professional experience managing contracts and related budgets including one or more of the following areas: negotiation with contractors and vendors; fiscal management, including bidding, payment, analysis, and fiscal reporting; contract development, including developing requests for proposals; contract execution, including securing signatory approval from control agencies; monitoring and review of contract terms; OR bachelor's or higher degree and completion of a two-year traineeship
An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for five years of experience; and a doctorate may substitute for six years of experience
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law
Possess the minimum qualifications for this title as established by the Department of Civil Service and listed on the most recent exam announcement
Meet the applicable minimal mental and/or physical requirements for the job (with a reasonable accommodation, if necessary)
Have a current Eligibility Letter from the NYS Department of Civil Service, www.cs.ny.gov/rp55/, and be able to provide it to the Human Resources Office upon request
