The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking an IT Specialist to lead and manage software development initiatives for the Hydrologic Engineering Center. Responsibilities
Provides strategic direction, guidance, and oversight for the development, deployment, and sustainment of USACE’s hydrologic engineering software systems, ensuring alignment with Corps-wide and national objectives
Serve as a subject matter expert in evaluating and recommending advanced technologies, tools, and methodologies
Leads efforts to integrate emerging technologies into HEC software and oversees organizational quality assurance efforts, ensuring all software is reliable, well-documented, and compliant with USACE standards
The work encompasses software design, coordination with developers, testing plans, creating documentation, deployment/distribution, and support/maintenance of hydrologic engineering and planning software
Qualification
Required
At least an Associate degree (or higher degree) in Computer Information Sciences, General
All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, are required to register for Selective Service prior to appointment
A trial or probationary period may be required
Direct deposit of pay is required
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of less than 5% of the time
The incumbent is required to comply with the Department of Defense's Financial Management Certification Program (Level 2), as a condition of employment
