Responsibilities
Create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications using appropriate software
Oversee all phases of landscape architecture projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
Engage with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Present design proposals and make modifications based on client feedback
Conduct site analysis to assess environmental conditions of existing vegetations, and prepare reports and recommendations based on findings
Incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into all design and planning processes
Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws and building codes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate landscape designs with overall project plans
Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, and address any issues that arise during construction phase
Participate in community meetings and presentations to gather public input and provide information on proposed projects
Evaluate deliverables and make recommendations for qualified resource needs
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve design issues
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design process
Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and provide technical guidance to junior landscape architects and other team members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
3-5 years of experience
Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE license
Strong understanding of horticulture, grading, drainage, and construction materials
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative design solutions
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
