Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Resident Engineer, ANS

Responsibilities
You'll monitor, coordinate, and enforce construction compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and environmental documents. Have a complete understanding of all contract documents
You'll perform daily field inspection of construction to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications
You'll identify non-compliant work and take appropriate action to bring back into compliance
You'll immediately report critical issues and/or possible delays
You'll prepare daily reports of all construction equipment, personnel and activities. Include records of discussions held regarding the progress of the contractor’s work, compliance with the contract documents, and any deficiencies in the work. Prepare summary reports to project leadership and client as required
You'll oversee and track third party special inspections and materials testing
You'll monitor contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness
You'll plan and coordinate inspection activities in advance of the work in support of construction schedule
You'll provide input and coordination to the design staff for responses to contractor RFI’s
You'll exert influence over contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc
You'll calculate and document field quantities for payment purposes
You'll participate in testing, commissioning, and punch list closeout
You'll maintain an awareness of safety and health requirements and ensure compliance of applicable regulations and contract provisions for the protection of the public and construction project personnel
You'll ensure all changes and/or modifications are noted on the final plans
You'll communicate and coordinate effectively with various contractors, entities, clients, and regulatory agencies
You'll perform constructability review of design plans
Qualification
Required
B.S. or higher degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
8+ years of experience
Experience in preparation of claims files, documents and reports
Experience in assisting in the preparation claims or claim response
Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community
Knowledge and experience with the equipment used in construction inspection, surveying, field testing of construction materials, and construction office engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Project
Ability to work effectively with little or no direct supervision in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to manage large and complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Proficient leadership skills, including effective conflict management and influencing skills
Preferred
PE, CCM, LEED and/or Registered Architect preferred
