Responsibilities
Architect and build robust 3D perception pipelines for teleoperated and semi-autonomous heavy machinery
Develop solid baseline algorithms and evolve them into advanced deep-learning models as necessary
Build real-time object detection, classification, and tracking systems to enhance operator situational awareness
Calibrate and fuse data across multiple modalities, ensuring spatial and temporal consistency under real-world conditions
Optimize algorithms for real-time execution on embedded compute platforms, ensuring low latency, stability, and resilience to edge cases
Qualification
Required
2 - 10 years of experience in perception engineering regardless of title working with autonomous vehicles of any kind (ideally in an industrial setting)
Experience building from 0 to 1 in some setting (startup, side-project, or other)
Worked at an early-stage autonomy / robotics startups in construction, mining, agriculture
Experience building and optimizing perception pipelines on embedded GPUs (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson Orin), working with ROS2 or similar
Strong coding in C++ and Python (or equivalent), with experience in autonomy/perception for industrial environments
Has a field-first mindset, in other words is excited to spend ~50% of time on construction sites, and low drama about travel/conditions
Deeply passionate about robotics and building
Willingness to travel 50% to construction sites
