Field Engineer

Responsibilities

Interface with clients, engineers, and estimators to support project scopes, estimates, and contract documentation
Monitor and support field construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budget, and schedule
Coordinate daily operations and field work with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
Track project progress, analyze productivity, and assist with earned value assessments for progress payments
Assist in identifying and managing changes in scope; support the change order process
Provide real-time technical analysis and solutions to field supervision
Maintain accurate project documentation including schedules, RFIs, status reports, and field logs
Participate in job site meetings and safety briefings; ensure work aligns with all safety and environmental regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management required
Minimum of 2+ years in multidisciplinary field engineering or construction support
At least 2 years of industrial construction experience (Power, Pulp & Paper, Chemical preferred)
Experience with project controls, scheduling, and field reporting
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills based on logical field analysis
Ability to effectively communicate across all project levels—from field craft to project executives
Comfortable directing subcontractors and 3rd party vendors on-site
Organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and translating complex information into actionable field direction
Collaborative mindset with a team-oriented approach

Preferred

OSHA 30 or similar safety training/certification
Hands-on project management or site supervision experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Primavera P6
