Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative swimwear styles in collaboration with the design team
Create detailed CADs using Adobe programs to support the design and development process
Prepare comprehensive tech packs and design cards for seamless handoffs to the tech team
Participate in fittings with the senior designer, tech team, and patternmakers to ensure design integrity
Provide actionable feedback on fit revisions and update sketches and tech packs to reflect changes
Conduct research on emerging trends, new brand launches, and consumer preferences
Shop the market to gather inspiration and compile insights for the design team
Help organize and present market and trend intelligence for internal alignment
Collaborate with the design team to source and develop innovative fabrics and trims
Communicate with overseas factories to bring new concepts to life and ensure alignment on designs
Manage and oversee sample requests, working with the sample team to produce quality prototypes
Review final samples ahead of meetings, ensuring alignment with quality standards and design intent
Organize and coordinate the preparation of sample packages for the Target team
Provide production approvals for fabrics, trims, and overall quality standards to meet expectations
Collaborate with the design team to maintain and update costing chart information
Send clear comments and feedback to production teams to address concerns and maintain accuracy
Assist in managing seasonal meeting assets in partnership with the design team
Contribute to the creation of engaging and visually compelling PowerPoint presentations for seasonal meetings
Submit style changes and assortment updates to the senior designer and broader team
Update line sheets and sketches in MIRO for distribution to cross-functional and design teams
Ensure adherence to the design calendar and maintain awareness of key deadlines
Track meeting deadlines and assets to ensure on-time delivery of all project components
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in design or a related field with 4-5 years of professional experience
Proficient in CAD sketching and technical design
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to take direction and thrive in a team setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel
