Supply Chain Manager
Soft Goods is a brand and knitwear cut & sew factory located in Corktown, Detroit. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing materials, inventory, shipping, and vendor coordination to support day-to-day factory operations while enhancing systems and workflows as the business grows.
Responsibilities
Execute purchasing based on BOMs, production schedules, and material requirements, keeping within a specified budget
Place material and supply orders in alignment with lead times and production needs
Communicate with material vendors and outside partners regarding availability, timelines, and order status
Proactively flag lead-time, availability, or cost risks that may impact production or delivery
Track materials across raw materials (RMI), work in progress (WIP), and finished goods (FGI)
Maintain accurate inventory records for both in-house and out-of-house production
Support improvements to inventory systems, organization, and tracking methods
Prepare and manage inbound and outbound shipments (UPS, freight, and local couriers)
Ensure shipping accuracy, including counts, addresses, and documentation
Handle compliance documentation, commercial invoices and international shipping
Communicate shipment status, tracking, and delivery updates clearly and consistently with clients
Identify and prioritize work independently without requiring constant direction
Own tasks from initiation through confirmed completion
Build and maintain simple systems, checklists, and documentation to reduce errors and rework
Qualification
Required
Hard worker, self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership
Experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, fulfillment, or manufacturing preferred
Experience in apparel a strong asset
Comfortable working hands-on in a factory environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly with vendors and internal teams
Familiarity with inventory tracking and purchasing systems
