Responsibilities
Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all shop operations
Ensure compliance with welding procedures, fabrication standards, and quality requirements
Identify potential risks and proactively implement corrective actions
Conduct regular inspections of work practices, tools, equipment, and finished products
Serve as the technical expert in mechanical pipe and structural fabrication practices
Oversee all aspects of shop operations including layout, fabrication, assembly, staging, and shipment
Review drawings, monitor welding processes, and ensure work aligns with project specifications
Maintain consistent quality standards and resolve any production or quality issues promptly
Develop and manage fabrication schedules to support project timelines and budget goals
Monitor production progress and adjust priorities to meet changing project demands
Support estimating efforts, bid reviews, and scope evaluations
Assist with change management, including documentation and coordination of change orders
Lead, mentor, and develop shop personnel including foremen, welders, and fitters
Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new team members
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing technical and professional coaching
Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and engineering teams to ensure alignment
Qualification
Required
Extensive experience in mechanical pipe fabrication and shop management
Strong knowledge of welding procedures, fabrication standards, and quality systems
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
Hands-on leadership style with strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting industrial, pharmaceutical, or hygienic process projects
