The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. The Administrative Specialist I will serve as a customer service representative for Food and Nutrition Services, assisting recipients with their inquiries and problem-solving related to the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system.

Responsibilities

Serves as the customer service representative and is the human contact for Food and Nutrition Services recipients with questions concerning the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and access to benefits

Engages in problem solving using recipient information, data from an administrative terminal, NC FAST database, on-line information guide and online manual

Required

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Experienced in the use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook), along with the ability to navigate web-based applications and hyperlinked scripting guides

Experienced in telephone client services using modern VOIP phone systems and be able to handle high-volume calls (150 – 200 calls per day) promptly and efficiently
