The Due Diligence Fellow will support the investment process by assessing startups and completing investment memos, contributing to well-informed investment decisions.

Responsibilities
Review and assess inbound startup submissions for investment fit
Present promising deals at pipeline review meetings to help determine next steps
Join founder calls to gather decision-useful insights
Support the preparation of detailed investment memos—conducting research and analysis on the industry background, market, problem, solution, traction, and other key areas
Join founder calls to assist in memo completion
Prepare follow-up communications when moving a startup through pipeline stages
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, working with—but not limited to—Notion, our intake form platform, funding databases, and AI tools
Qualification
Required
A student pursuing their Master's of Science or Business Administration looking to gain exposure into venture capital
Familiar with African tech, startups, and venture capital
Curious, taking nothing at face value—asking questions and challenging assumptions
Research-driven, going beyond surface-level and AI analysis to build conviction in investment decisions
A clear written communicator, capable of breaking down complex ideas in a straightforward way
Detail-oriented, consistently producing thorough, reliable work for investment decisions
Confident in executing a process with minimal oversight
