Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
This position will provide direct deckplate support for both the CVN74 RCOH and the CVN 75 RCOH blasting and painting activities

Required

Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience, High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Preferred

Professional coatings technical training and certification such as National Association of Coatings Engineers level 2, NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector or other industry-specific professional inspection credentials
Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline
10 years of coatings-related work experience can be substituted for a technical degree
