Responsibilities
Defend clients against criminal charges: handle cases involving DUIs, drug offenses, violent crimes, white-collar crimes, and more
Develop winning defense strategies: conduct thorough legal research, gather evidence, and build strong defense cases
Represent clients in court: attend arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial hearings, trials, and sentencing hearings
Negotiate with prosecutors: work toward favorable plea agreements and case dismissals when possible
Provide client support and guidance: conduct initial consultations, explain legal rights, and offer expert legal advice
Collaborate with legal teams: partner with paralegals, investigators, and expert witnesses to strengthen case strategies
Qualification
Required
Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing (required)
Criminal defense experience: minimum 1 year of experience in criminal law
Courtroom and negotiation skills: strong ability to litigate cases, challenge evidence, and negotiate plea bargains
