Cyber Security Engineer – Cloud Boundary & SCCA (OCI / DoD)
Blu Omega is a Woman Owned Small Business Federal Health Technology and Operations firm headquartered in Washington DC. They are seeking a hands-on Cloud Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure cloud landing zones and boundary access controls for a DoD modernization program.
Responsibilities
Design and secure cloud landing zones for DoD workloads
Implement SCCA security controls, including boundary and ingress/egress protections
Engineer and manage Boundary Cloud Access Points (BCAP) or equivalent boundary architectures
Secure user and application access paths into cloud environments
Configure and enforce network segmentation, routing, and access control
Implement Zero Trust access patterns using boundary-focused tooling
Automate security controls using Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell
Partner with cloud and application engineers deploying into landing zones
Support ATO activities after controls are implemented (documentation is secondary)
Qualification
Required
Candidates must have an interim secret clearance (or above) as a precondition of employment
Hands-on experience implementing SCCA-aligned cloud security controls
Experience securing cloud boundaries, ingress/egress, or landing zones
Experience with boundary access technologies (BCAP, SDP, NGFW, ZTNA, etc.)
Experience in regulated federal or DoD cloud environments
Experience with at least one CSP: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable with transferable boundary experience
Automation using Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell
Strong understanding of network security, access paths, and segmentation
CompTIA Security+ (or higher)
Preferred
OCI federal cloud experience
AWS Landing Zone Accelerator or similar landing zone frameworks
AppGate, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, or similar boundary tooling
Prior IL4 / IL5 / FedRAMP High environments
