Air Quality Communications Systems Analyst

Maricopa County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation, and they are seeking an Air Quality Communications Systems Analyst to improve and protect air quality. The role focuses on research, analysis, and implementation of technology enhancements to effectively communicate air quality data to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain the division’s communication technologies, including communication with instruments, databases, websites, and outreach kiosks
Create and update documentation relating to the division's maintenance of the AirVision Database, IMPACT Database, and outreach kiosks
Research, develop, and recommend improvements of all division technology resource needs
Research, document, and monitor procedural and workflow plans
Operate a vehicle to install, maintain, or repair modems, kiosks, and computers
Prepare technical reports and project summaries for distribution to stakeholders

Required

Two years of professional analytical experience, which includes working with database systems, including data acquisition, evaluation, and system analysis
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, communications, computer science, natural sciences, or a relevant field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Preferred

Two years of experience in air quality or air monitoring
Experience setting up data communication equipment (i.e., routers, modems, Modbus communication)
Experience in maintaining a cloud-based server using Microsoft SQL Server
Advanced skills and experience using computer applications, including database management, data acquisition, and word processing software such as Microsoft Excel to develop reports, charts, and analyses of data
Experience working with federal air monitoring rules, regulations, and policies
Experience working with state, local, and federal agencies
