Killing bad asks early
Ensuring creative work is solving the right problem
Translate business, marketing, and brand goals into clear, focused creative briefs
Define: Target audience, Core insight or tension, Job-to-be-done, What success looks like
Push back on vague, unfocused, or misaligned requests before they reach creative teams
Work closely with Brand, Creative, Marketing, and Growth
Act as the strategic bridge between intent and execution
Ask hard questions early to avoid wasted work later
Ensure briefs respect brand positioning, voice, and tone (in partnership with Brand leadership)
Help teams understand what the work must do without prescribing how it should look
Review creative work against the original brief
Flag when execution drifts from intent
Incorporate performance and qualitative feedback into future briefs over time
Qualification
Required
8+ years in creative strategy, brand strategy, or planning
Experience working directly with creative teams (design, copy, production)
Experience writing and defending creative briefs
Experience pushing back on stakeholders to protect clarity and quality
Preferred
Agency experience (brand, creative, or advertising agency)
Experience in consumer goods or retail-facing brands
Comfort working across multiple channels (digital, retail, experiential, etc.)
Experience in sports nutrition, supplements, or adjacent categories
Experience working with in-house creative teams
