This Summer, they are looking for a Facilities/Industrial Engineering Intern to support their teams by working on projects that address real-time business issues and contribute to the company's growth.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering design principles to develop manufacturing equipment layouts, facility utility requirements, process flows, and equipment requirements used in processing or manufacturing products

Evaluate facility impact of engineering proposals by documenting process and utility requirements, space utilization, and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design

Assist with manufacturing decision-making by providing technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, process advantages and limitations, cost and scheduling, and space allocation constraints

Recommend methods for improving process efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as reorganizing work flow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of new equipment

Interface with product, test, quality, and other engineering groups to understand manufacturing requirements and design constraints

Evaluate high-level plant space usage and process locations to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and facilitate the integration of new product lines

Participate in initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance in constrained areas like LEAN, Automation and/or Six-Sigma projects
