They are seeking a senior finance leader to professionalize, optimize, and scale the finance function, owning core accounting and regulatory compliance in a fast-moving trading environment.

Responsibilities
Own full-cycle accounting, including GL, close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Ensure accurate accounting for financial and physical energy trading activities
Build and maintain strong internal controls appropriate for a trading platform
Act as primary finance contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and counterparties
Oversee settlements, invoicing, and reconciliations with ISOs/RTOs and counterparties
Manage accounting related to power markets, collateral, margin, and credit support
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements (FERC, CFTC exposure awareness, etc.)
Partner closely with trading and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and risk visibility
Lead cash management and liquidity planning
Optimize collateral postings, margin usage, and credit facilities
Support capital raise activity and financing strategy as needed
Build forward-looking cash flow and exposure models tied to trading activity
Improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
Identify opportunities for automation and AI-enabled efficiencies
Help modernize finance processes in a growing, data-driven environment
Qualification
Required
8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Deep understanding of settlements, collateral, margin, and mark-to-market accounting
Strong technical accounting foundation (CPA a plus, not required)
Comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial, fully remote environment
Highly technical, detail-oriented, and hands-on
Preferred
Prior experience in energy trading, utilities, power markets, commodities, or hedge fund environments strongly preferred
Interest or exposure to AI-driven process improvement is a plus
