Responsibilities
Inspect and approve incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods against engineering drawings and specifications
Perform product inspections daily using height gages, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools
Document inspection results through reports, logs, and database entries, including rework and scrap tracking
Communicate nonconformances to affected parties and follow up for required adjustments
Issue Corrective Actions where appropriate based on internal guidelines
Maintain and manage all production gauges; performing in-house calibration where possible and coordinating third-party calibration when necessary
Verify proper operation of gauges; manage inspection and repair as required
Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements
Maintain SOPs for the Quality department, making revisions and updates as needed
Assist with auditing internal work procedures and making recommendations to address non-conformances
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality systems and reduce rework
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Some experience in reading blueprints and using measurement tools
Strong working knowledge of mechanical measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and thread gauges
Familiarity with engineering drawings, blueprints, and industry specifications such as ANSI, ASTM, API and 3A
Familiarity with quality documentation, reporting, and data entry
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred
Associate degree in STEM or related coursework
1-3 years of experience in a quality, inspection, engineering or manufacturing role
