Director of Operations - Clinic

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of their ambulatory clinic practices. This role involves overseeing workflow, staffing, and financial performance to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care across multiple clinical areas.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all aspects of clinical operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
Provide strong leadership and support to Clinic Managers, Patient Access, Radiology, and DME teams
Foster a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and accountability
Partner with physicians and staff to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline operations
Oversee staffing models and scheduling to meet patient care needs and optimize resources
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and all regulatory requirements
Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and professional development of staff
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and performance improvement
Promote open communication, trust, and collaboration across teams
Champion initiatives that improve safety, efficiency, and overall patient experience

Required

Bachelor's degree required
3–5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory clinic setting required
Demonstrated success in managing operations, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to lead through change with empathy, confidence, and professionalism
Proficiency in EMR systems and general office software

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Experience in surgical specialties preferred
RN strongly preferred but not required
