Responsibilities

Develop, solicit, and strategically manage existing accounts while generating new catering and golf outing revenue for The Palencia Club
Identify and generate new catering clients through online research and active prospecting, including:
A monthly minimum of 4 personal offsite sales calls
1 quarterly mandatory sales blitz
3 weekly site tours
1 weekly client lunch
Attendance at a minimum of 3 monthly networking events
20 weekly new business conversations to drive catering and golf outing bookings
Prospect local non-profits, charities, corporations, and associations to increase private event and golf outing revenue by creating strategic partnerships
Responsible for selling merchandise and upselling food and beverage offerings related to golf outings
Report directly to the General Manager and Vice President of Catering Sales to develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans to achieve catering sales budget goals
Develop quarterly sales game plans, with each quarter including at least one initiative targeting:
Weddings
Member Events
Local Corporate Events
Golf Outings
Collaborate with the Golf Professional to market and host an annual Get Golf Ready Seminar for current, prospective, and new golf outing clients
Partner with the Membership Director to identify the top 20 most active and influential members and uncover new event and golf outing opportunities
Work with the Membership Director to welcome all new members, including sending a Private Event Welcome Letter and attending all new member orientations
Represent The Palencia Club at local industry trade shows, association events, bridal showcases, and networking functions to build brand awareness and drive revenue
Develop and maintain relationships with local Convention & Visitors Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, BNI groups, real estate agents, and preferred vendor partners to generate referrals
Represent the Club at a minimum of one local bridal showcase annually and host one Wedding Open House per year at The Palencia Club
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure successful events, repeat business, and long-term partnerships
Develop and manage a robust prospect pipeline using Jonas Encore and CRM tools, maintaining:
Ongoing contact with existing clients
A prospect base of 50 “A” level prospects to exceed revenue goals
Follow all The Palencia Club policies, procedures, service standards, and operational guidelines
Ensure all service to members, clients, and guests aligns with The Palencia Club’s service standards and expectations
Demonstrate creativity in developing new experiences that drive customer engagement and event growth

Required

Minimum of 3 years of direct sales experience in catering sales and/or hospitality, with extensive experience in planning and selling within: Wedding Market, Local Corporate Market, Golf Outings, Private Golf & Country Club environment
Excellent strategic sales, upselling, networking, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Proven track record of exceeding hospitality and/or catering sales goals
Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously, including contract negotiation and follow-up
Strong decision-making skills and ability to resolve account challenges effectively
Resourceful, creative, and flexible approach to selling events
Positive, adaptable mindset with the ability to embrace change and work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to quickly learn and utilize technology to drive growth in weddings, social events, corporate events, and golf outings
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Jonas Encore, Event Management systems, and CRM technology
High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong drive to succeed

Preferred

Strong social media skills for weekly marketing and event promotion; experience with Hootsuite, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest preferred
Demonstrated expertise in the local Wedding & Social Market, Corporate & Association Market, and SMERF Market; existing local relationships preferred
Yield management knowledge a plus
